Kenya’s most decorated football club, Gor Mahia, produced a stunning comeback to defeat Murang’a Seal 3–2 in a pulsating FKF Premier League encounter at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

What initially looked like a long afternoon for K’Ogalo turned into one of the most defining victories of their season and one that will live long in club folklore.

Murang’a Seal shocked the home fans by storming into a two-goal lead within the opening nineteen minutes. Joe Waithira opened the scoring in the 4th minute, before Francis Memusi doubled the advantage just fifteen minutes later, capitalising on Gor Mahia’s sluggish start.

The visitors defended stubbornly and went into the halftime break holding onto their 2–0 advantage, frustrating Gor Mahia and silencing the Kasarani crowd.

However, the second half told a completely different story.

Gor Mahia emerged from the tunnel with renewed purpose and intensity, and within two minutes of the restart**, they had wiped out the deficit. Felix Oluoch pulled one back before Paul Ochuoga struck almost immediately to level matters at 2–2, sending the stadium into frenzy.

With momentum firmly on their side, Gor Mahia head coach rolled the dice, introducing new signing Ebenezer Kofi Assifuah, a move that proved decisive.

In the 81st minute, Assifuah announced his arrival in style, tapping in a low cross from Ochuoga to complete a remarkable turnaround and seal all three points for the record FKF Premier League champions.

The dramatic victory saw Gor Mahia reclaim top spot on the league table, wresting control from arch-rivals AFC Leopards, and reaffirming their title credentials.

As things stand, K’Ogalo are back where they believe they belong, sitting proudly at the summit and serving hot ugali to the rest of the league.
