Gor Mahia patron Eliud Owalo on Tuesday afternoon hosted a distinguished group of Kenyan football legends at his Gangu Village home in Asembo, in a rare and heart-warming reunion celebrating the country’s rich football heritage.

The gathering brought together some of the most iconic names in Kenyan football history, players who were household figures across Kenya and the wider East African region during their prime years. The event served as a moment of reflection, appreciation, and bonding among pioneers who laid the foundation for the modern game.

Among the legends in attendance were John “Bobby” Ogolla, Josephat “Comptroller” Murilla, Peter Dawo “Omuga”, Mickey Weche “T9”, David Ochieng “Kamoga”, Tobias Ocholla “JuaKali”, Tony Lidonde, George Onyango “Fundi”, Dan Musuku, Isaiah Omondi “Janabi”, Ben Musuku, James Goro Oronge, Aggrey Lukoye, Micke Otieno, Nick Yakhama, and Dan Omino.

The meeting underscored the importance of preserving football history, honoring past heroes, and drawing inspiration from their experiences to guide the future of Kenyan football.

The Asembo gathering stood as a powerful reminder that Kenyan football’s greatest strength lies in its history, unity, and respect for those who built the game.
