As the highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby draws near, the air is thick with rivalry, and Gor Mahia’s Vice Chairperson Sally Bolo is here to stoke the flames!
In a spirited social media post, she’s taken to the digital battleground, sending a cheeky message to their arch-rivals, AFC Leopards, telling them to “chill and wait for the right time and venue.”
Scheduled for Saturday, November 30, the match may face some logistical hurdles, but that hasn’t dampened the competitive spirits. Bolo celebrates the rivalry while reminding AFC Leopards of historical encounters where Gor Mahia has come out on top time and time again.

“Wadau, I’ve seen the noise coming from the AFC Leopards corner,” she jested. “The usual claims that Gor Mahia is ‘afraid’ and suddenly using the lack of a venue as a scapegoat… Let me educate you pole pole!”
She went on to explain that CAF regulations take priority, and with fixtures scheduled during that time, it’s all about adhering to the rules, not fear of the Leopards.
“CAF group stage matches cannot be played at Police Sacco or Ulinzi Stadium. This fixture must be at Kasarani or Nyayo Stadium,” she clarified, poking fun at the logistical challenges.
And the best part? “Gor Mahia has beaten you in Kenya, outside Kenya, home, away, in daylight and floodlights, not once, not twice,” she reminded them playfully. “Historically, you have been one of our most loyal wives, faithfully collecting your beatings like rent!”
As the banter continues, fans from both sides eagerly await the confirmation of the venue. Will it be Kasarani or Nyayo? One thing is for sure: the atmosphere will be electric, and the rivalry as fierce as ever.
So, dear AFC Leopards family, enjoy your moments of glory while they last, because when that final whistle blows, history has a way of repeating itself! K’Ogalo ni bwana yenyu, na mnaijua vizuri. Let the games begin!
