Interviewer: Coach Akonnor, congratulations on the victory today. It looked like a hard-fought match. Could you give us your thoughts on the overall performance?
Charles Akonnor: Thank you. While I’m pleased that we secured the three points, I believe there’s still a lot to work on. Today, we played quicker and managed to control the game, creating several chances. However, our inability to convert those opportunities into goals is concerning.
Interviewer: You mentioned the chances created—what do you think was lacking in your team’s finishing?
Akonnor: It’s a mix of things, really. We showed that we can create the chances, which is a positive sign. However, we need to be more clinical in our finishing. If we don’t capitalize on these opportunities, we could find ourselves in jeopardy in future matches. The final third needs our immediate attention.
Interviewer: Felix Oluoch scored the only goal today. How important is it for you to see him back on the scoresheet?

Akonnor: It’s crucial. Felix has had a challenging start since he wasn’t with us in pre-season. He’s been working hard, and I’m glad to see him get on the scoresheet. That goal will certainly boost his confidence moving forward.
Interviewer: You also mentioned Ebenezer Adukwaw earlier—how do you assess his performance?
Akonnor: Adukwaw was fantastic. His awareness on the pitch is impressive. He had the option to score himself but chose the selfless route to set up Felix. That speaks volumes about his character and understanding of the game. He’s been a great addition to our team so far.
Interviewer: Moving forward, you have a match against Aps Bomet after the international break. What specific areas will you focus on improving before then?
Akonnor: The focus will be primarily on our finishing. We need to translate our chances into goals consistently. I also want the players to maintain the positive aspects of our game, like ball movement and control. I believe that if we work on these areas, we’ll see continued improvement.
Interviewer: Thank you, Coach Akonnor. We look forward to seeing your team’s progression in the coming matches.
Akonnor: Thank you. We’ll keep working hard!
