Gor Mahia’s Deputy Patron Eliud Owalo officially welcomed the newly-appointed head coach, Charles Akonnor, during a meeting held earlier this evening.

The meeting took place just hours after Akonnor’s unveiling, marking a significant moment for the club as it looks to revitalize its fortunes in the competitive football landscape.

During the welcome remarks, Owalo expressed his confidence in Akonnor’s abilities, citing his impressive track record as both a player and a coach.

“With a chequered career as a long-serving captain and later as coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, I verily believe that Akonnor has the wherewithal and technical capacity to turn around the fortunes of the mighty Gor Mahia,” he stated, underscoring the high expectations surrounding the new coach’s appointment.

Charles Akonnor, who has earned respect for his tactical acumen and leadership skills, is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the club. His prior experience with the Ghanaian national team and various club stints has positioned him as a promising figure in African football.

As Akonnor takes the reins, Gor Mahia fans and stakeholders alike are hopeful that his expertise will help the team achieve greater success in the upcoming season. The palpable excitement surrounding his arrival reflects the club’s ambitions and the desire for a resurgence in performance.

The club’s supporters, often referred to as the “Kogalo” faithful, are eager to see the impact of Akonnor’s strategies on the pitch.

As preparations for the new season begin, all eyes will be on Gor Mahia and their new coach as they aim to reclaim their status as a dominant force in Kenyan football.

Welcome to Kogalo, Charles Akonnor! The journey ahead promises to be an exciting one for both the coach and the club.
