In a significant boost for Kenyan football, SportPesa has officially returned to the sport by signing a groundbreaking 10-year sponsorship agreement worth KSh1.12 billion with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
The announcement was made at a lively launch event in Nairobi, marking the company’s commitment to becoming the title sponsor of the FKF Premier League.
As part of this ambitious sponsorship, SportPesa will contribute KSh85 million for the upcoming season, allocating 60% of these funds directly to the Premier League clubs, while the remaining 40% will go towards league operations and administration.
Each club in the league is set to receive approximately KSh2.8 million per year, amounting to KSh 233,000 each month.

SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with FKF once again. Our goal is to restore the glory of Kenyan football and make steady progress in the years ahead. This is a leap of faith and a call to other corporates to join us in supporting local sports.”
FKF President Hussein Mohammed also welcomed the partnership, highlighting its historic importance for Kenyan football. “This is a transformative chapter.
We are grateful to SportPesa for believing in our vision. This deal signals renewed hope and a stronger future for the game,” he remarked.
In addition to financial support, SportPesa will also supply 5,000 replica jerseys for fans to showcase their support for the national team, Harambee Stars, in the upcoming CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN).
This long-term partnership aims to enhance the financial stability of clubs, improve the competitiveness of the league, and foster a vibrant football ecosystem in Kenya.
More detailed rollout plans and promotional activities are expected to be announced in the coming months, signaling an exciting era for local football.
