Gor Mahia FC has fired its entire technical bench and security staff after a disappointing season.

These changes follow the team’s 2-1 loss to Nairobi United in the Mozzart Bet Cup final just two days ago. After losing the league title to Kenya Police FC, Gor Mahia’s hopes of saving their season relied on the Mozzart Bet Cup, where they were seen as favorites.

Chairman Ambrose Rachier announced in a letter to the press that the club has agreed to part ways with the entire technical bench and security team, effective July 2, 2025.

“This decision follows a thorough internal review and is part of the club’s plan to improve its technical and operational capabilities for the 2025/26 season,” the statement said.

The club emphasised that these changes were made respectfully. “The separation was amicable, and the club appreciates the contributions of the outgoing staff. We thank them for their commitment, professionalism, and service to the club.”

As Gor Mahia FC moves forward, it aims to build a strong foundation for success both on and off the field. Further announcements about the new technical team will be made soon.

Zico, who became an assistant coach at the start of the 2024/25 season, was interim coach twice. He first took over in November 2024 after the dismissal of Leonardo Neiva and again in May 2025 after Sinisa Mihic resigned following a goalless draw with Murang’a Seal.

That result ended the club’s title chase. Zico’s final stint resulted in one win (against Ulinzi Stars) and draws against Kenya Police and AFC Leopards, leading to the Cup final loss, which sealed his fate.

More changes are expected in the player roster, with over ten players likely to be released as Gor Mahia plans a major rebuild to reclaim the league title next season.
