Reigning champions Gor Mahia delivered a commanding performance, defeating Mara Sugar FC 4-0 in an FKF Premier League match at Dandonra Stadium this evening, showcasing their strength and skill.

The match kicked off with excitement as K’Ogalo quickly took control. Shariff Musa opened the scoring in the 10th minute, finishing expertly inside the box after a well-timed assist from Enoch Morrison. Just 14 minutes later, the provider Morrison added a second goal, finding the back of the net with a powerful strike from outside the area that left the Mara Sugar goalkeeper with no chance, sending the teams into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 lead for the hosts.

Gor Mahia approached the match with a determined attitude, and Coach Mihic made a bold decision by benching key players, including midfielder maestro Austin Odhiambo, known for his playmaking abilities, and the lethal striker Bensom Omàlla. This unexpected lineup change paid off as the team demonstrated depth and cohesion throughout the match.

In the second half, Gor Mahia continued to dominate possession and create scoring opportunities. Gideon Moloila Bendeka extended the lead in the 67th minute, capitalizing on a defensive mistake to slot the ball home from close range.

The final blow came from substitute Alpha Onyango, who, with just moments remaining in the match, skillfully manoeuvred past defenders and netted the fourth goal in the 90th minute, solidifying the team’s commanding victory.

With this impressive win, Gor Mahia solidifies its position in third place with 50 points, just two points behind league leaders Police FC, maintaining hope for a strong finish in the title race.

Stay tuned for more updates and insights on the FKF Premier League.
