Rachier retains Chairman as Sally returns to Gor Mahia Management

Veteran Gor Mahia official Ambrose Rachier has once again triumphed in securing the faith of club members, successfully re-elected as the chairman of the illustrious FKF Premier League champions. In a fiercely contested election that took place on a vibrant Sunday afternoon, Rachier garnered an impressive 658 votes, outpacing his sole challenger, Dolphina Achieng, who earned 456 votes.

Sally BoloIn a remarkable turn of events, Sally Bolo rose to the role of Vice Chairperson, capturing 610 votes in a riveting battle against Victor Mbaka, who accumulated 488 votes. Bolo, a familiar face in the club’s leadership, returns with a wealth of experience from her previous role as treasurer, ready to infuse the executive team with her unwavering passion and rich knowledge of the beautiful game.

The Secretary-General position was claimed by Nick Arum, who emerged victorious with 582 votes, defeating the incumbent Sammy Ochola, who tallied 501 votes.

The anticipation surrounding the Honorary Treasurer seat culminated in a nail-biting finish, with Gerphas Ogola narrowly edging out Philip Nyakwana, securing 527 votes to Nyakwana’s 524.

Oversight of this pivotal election was entrusted to the Gor Mahia Electoral Board, chaired by Gichu Wahome, alongside distinguished members including Prof. Ben Sihanya, Henry Ogoye, Prof. Omondi Oketch, and Rose Lilian Otili Anyango, all of whom ensured a fair and transparent process.

This election marks the second time Gor Mahia has convened for such a critical event since the inaugural polls in 2020, underscoring the club’s commitment to democratic governance and the passion of its dedicated members.
