Rooney Onyango has officially moved from Gor Mahia to Norwegian club Sogndal Football. The talented right-back, who recently completed a successful trial, has now been announced as their newest signing. Throughout his time with Gor Mahia, Onyango was a key player, consistently delivering impressive performances, scoring pivotal goals, and providing vital assists.

In a heartfelt farewell message shared on his social media, he expressed his deep appreciation for the Gor Mahia community:

Dear Gor Mahia Family,
Saying goodbye is never easy, but I leave with a heart full of gratitude. Together, we lifted the FKFPL title, the Charity Shield Cup, and created memories I will cherish forever.
To the fans, thank you for your unwavering support. Your passion made every match special. To my teammates, my brothers, keep pushing and making history. To the coaches and staff, your hard work made all of this possible, and I’m forever grateful.

As I start a new chapter, I will always remain a fan. Wishing you all the best, especially in the Mashemeji Derby. Boys, go out there and make us proud. CHUOR TIMBE!

With love and gratitude,
Rooney Onyango”

Sogndal IL was established on February 19, 1926. The team participated in their first season in the top division in 1982, finishing in 11th place. Currently, they compete in the second tier, known as the 1. divisjon, of the Norwegian football league system. Home matches are held at Fosshaugane Campus, which has a capacity of 5,622 spectators.

The K’Ogalo fraternity stands firmly behind him, wishing him the very best as he embraces this exciting new adventure in Norway.
