Defending FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia celebrated a fantastic 2-0 victory over Bandari FC at Dandora Stadium, keeping their dreams of a title defense alive as they chase league leaders Kenya Police and second-placed Tusker FC.

Gor Biro, Yawne Yo (translated as “Gor is coming, clear the way”) ranted the air as passionate Gor Mahia follower and K’Ogalo registered impressive 2-0 victory over Bandari. This triumph not only showcased their determination but also positioned them just three points shy of the pinnacle of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL).

The excitement started right from the 14th minute when Alpha Onyango netted the opening goal for K’Ogalo, igniting cheers from the home crowd. Gor Mahia showcased their skill and teamwork throughout the match, maintaining possession and creating opportunities against a strong Bandari side.

As the game was winding down, Chris Ochieng’ put the cherry on top with a stunning solo goal in the 88th minute. He skillfully dribbled past defenders before finishing with a well-placed shot, sealing the victory for his team.

While the joyous celebrations were in full swing for Gor Mahia, the atmosphere turned somber for Bandari, who now face a daunting challenge as their title hopes grow fainter, trailing a worrying 12 points behind the leaders. It will take something extraordinary for the side, led by coach Kennedy Odhiambo, to seize their first league title this season.

With this win, Gor Mahia not only claims all three points but also keeps their title hopes alive, putting some friendly pressure on their closest rivals!
