With the mid-season transfer window buzzing and fans discussing big names, Gor Mahia has elevated young talent Bryton Otieno Onyona from its youth squad. Identified during the Safaricom Chapa Dimba tournament last season, Onyona was loaned to Obunga FC by Gor Mahia Youth before catching Kenya’s eye.
Part of the Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars Team that toured Spain in December 2024, Bryton’s standout performance earned him a TVET Scholarship from Safaricom.
Recognized as the tournament’s most valuable player, he impressed on the field, leading to Safaricom Foundation awarding him the TVET scholarship and the Kisumu County MVP title.
Dubbed “Amou,” Bryton showcases his skills as an offensive player on both the left and right sides, with the versatility to excel as a wingback.
Prior to his national soccer debut, he honed his craft at Kotiang’a United FC in Kibiri Ward, Homabay County, and represented Oriwo High School before joining Gor Mahia’s youth setup. Now, he embarks on his professional journey as he steps up to the senior team.
