To elevate their squad, record-time Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have made a strategic move by securing Cameroonian forward Patrick Essombe Ekandjoum from Union Douala in Cameroon.
Essombe brings fresh dynamism to the team’s attacking lineup, demonstrating his potential to disrupt opposing defences during his debut as a substitute against KSG Ogopa FC in the Mozzart Bet Cup.
After an inconsistent first leg, K’Ogalo is determined to capitalize on the return leg as they chase their dream of a third consecutive league title. The recent hiring of Croatian coach Sinisa Mihic has instilled a renewed sense of optimism within the club, and they believe he possesses the vision to reverse the team’s fortunes.

Essombe’s versatility enhances the attacking strategy significantly; he can seamlessly operate as a winger, an attacking midfielder, or a striker.
“We urgently need dynamic attackers, as our goal-scoring has been insufficient. The technical bench is highly impressed with his abilities, and I am confident he will make a significant impact. Winning the title is our priority, and securing players of such calibre is crucial,” a team official stated during training, as reported by Mozzart Sport.
With a wealth of experience at Union Douala, Les Astres FC in Cameroon, and AS Kigali in Rwanda, Essombe’s addition is set to reinforce K’Ogalo’s attacking prowess and propel the team towards their ambitious goals.
