Gor Mahia have officially introduced Sinisa Mihic as their new head coach. Mihic takes over from Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno, who had been serving as the interim coach since November.
The club’s decision to appoint a coach with a UEFA Pro License aligns with their strategy to secure a third consecutive league title, as exclusively revealed by Best Mozzart Sport.
In his last game as Gor Mahia, Zico led the team to a 2-1 victory against Posta Rangers, securing a crucial win in their title defense campaign. The team’s quest for the championship received a boost as both Police FC and Tusker FC played to draws on Sunday.
The appointment of Mihic was marked by a brief ceremony led by chairman Ambrose Rachier, where Otieno was announced to return to his role as assistant coach alongside Michael Nam. The club’s statement welcoming coach Sinisa Mihic highlights their optimism for the upcoming season.
“We are pleased to announce Sinisa Mihic from Croatia as our new head coach, to be assisted by Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno and Michael Nam. Welcome to Gor Mahia, coach Sinisa,” read the club’s statement.
Mihic, known for his managerial positions, brings a wealth of experience from coaching roles in Kuwait, Croatia, and Africa.
Mihic’s debut as Gor Mahia’s head coach will be tested in an upcoming league match against Tusker FC in Machakos this Saturday. The club looks forward to a successful season under the guidance of their new coaching team.
