Gor Mahia head coach Leo Neiva commended great work of the tram after sailing through to the second preliminary stage of CAF Champions League preliminary.
K’Ogalo beat South Sudan side El Merreikh 5-1 in an entertaining match played at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday 25th August 2024.
The head coach is upbeat but insist mich still has to be done to improve the performance off the team.
“We are very satisfied and pleased with the results but we still have a lot of work to do”, Neiva said during post match interview.
K’Ogalo faces African defending champions Al Ahly in the next stage of CAFCL, a task the coach believe can be accomplished.
“We showed we are able to come back but now, we have giants / top club in Africa and we have to prepare to play Al Ahly, everyone knows they are the favourites but football is on the ground.” the coach added.
Gor Mahia will meet African defending champions on 13th and 20th September at home and away respectively.
