Gor Mahia striker Benson Omalla is still in a tough fight for the FKF Premier League Golden Boot even after scoring a brace last weekend.
Omalla now has 14 goals following his two strikes as Gor Mahia beat Murang’a Seal 3-2 on Saturday but he is just one goal ahead of Kenya Police striker Tito Okello.
The Gor Mahia forward has not managed to hit the heights of last season, when he netted a record equaling 26, and had managed 25 goals by May, but he is still in contention for his first Golden Boot gong after missing it in 2022-23 to then Kenya Police man Elvis Rupia who scored a record 27.

Omalla will be hoping that lightning does not strike twice as it is a Police man hot on his heels yet again.
Okello netted the equaliser as his team came from behind to win 2-1 away to Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday and has shown great consistency, scoring five goals in his last four league games, including a brace a piece in matches against Sofapaka and FC Talanta.
It means Omalla cannot rest on his laurels if he has to end the season with an individual accolade besides the league title which looks destined to Gor Mahia for a second straight season.
