Gor Mahia vs Tusker’s’clash on Sunday 28th May 2023 will be one of the most brutal matches in FKF Premier League history.
With only four matches to the end of the season, Tusker one points lead does not make them much comfortable at the KPL summit. A win for Gor Mahia will place them on top of the table with twoa point while Tusker’s win puts them comfortably in the title race.
Tusker leads the league logs on 64 points, one above second-placed Gor Both teams are aiming for the title with Tusker two points lead on the table.
K’Ogalo head coach Jonathan McKinstry has expressed confidence in their ability to run over champions Tusker on their way to a 20th Kenyan Premier League title.
But his tactics have been on test with many K’Ogalo followers questioning on his squad selection. The Irish tactician’s style of play is mostly defensive as observed by many Gor Mahia fans. But the head coach has urged his charges to push above and beyond to prevail over their opponents in the crunch encounter.

“We are eager to win our next match against Tusker. Losing is unimaginable. That would be too costly for us. Our focus is on delivering the 20th title this season. It would be catastrophic to crash to Tusker on Sunday,” McKinstry said during an interview with Star Newspaper.
“The morale in the camp ahead of the match is encouraging. The players have responded very well in training sessions and the energy they display is amazing,” he added.
Matano on the other hand has vowed to dismantle tactical K’Ogalo with his scheming tactic. His always-attacking football will be witnessed on Sunday at Nyayo Stadium. He has confirmed they are prepared enough for the match and are confident to sail through on the Sunday vital match
“We hope to reap maximum points from the game. We know Gor are good and well organized and so we are doing everything we can to prepare well for them,” Matano said.
In their first leg encounter, Gor Mahia won 2-1 in a match played at Moi International Sports Center – Kasarani with Benson Omalla scoring K’Ogalo scoring the winning goal (read Gor Mahia beats Tusker 2-1 at Kasarani)
