Media Watch: We are coming for the points, Akumu warns Gor Mahia

Vihiga Bullets defender Vitalis Akumu has sent a warning to Gor Mahia saying his team is coming to pick maximum points when the two teams meet at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani on Sunday.

Bottom-placed Bullets travel to Nairobi to take on the record league champions who are now under German tactician Andreas Spier who downed Posta Rangers in his first match as K’Ogalo boss. Bullets have shown improvement in recent weeks and managed draws against top guns such as Tusker FC and KCB FC. This has been attributed to the strengthening that the team made during the mid-season transfer window.

Their recent improvement has given both coach Juma Abdallah and his players confidence heading into the tie against Gor Mahia and Akumu has warned that they are coming to Nairobi for all three points. He admits that they will be taking on a Kenyan giant but believes with reduced mistakes in the game they have a chance of getting at least one point.’We are coming to Nairobi for three points, at worst we will settle for a draw. We understand that we are going to face a tough team and we have to minimize our mistakes and punish them for any mistake they make. It is not going to be easy but we are prepared for the fight,” he told Mozzart Sport.

The veteran full-back adds that they have readied themselves well for the game and are focused on getting out of the foot of the log for the first time this season.

“We have prepared well all week, everyone in the team is in high spirits and motivated and we are ready for the game on Sunday. The goal is a good result that will enable us to move from that bottom position in the log,” he added.

The match will kick off at 3PM EAT.
