Kenya all-time champions Gor Mahia will miss the services of striker Jules Ulimwengu and midfielder John Ochieng’ in a CAF Confederation Cup return leg on Sunday 5th December 2021.
Confirming this, the club Sporting Director Lordvick Aduda announced that two of their players will remain in quarantine in Congo for the next eight days.
“Our two players ( Jules & John) who ‘tested’ positive for Covid-19 in Congo will be in quarantine for 8 days before being allowed to travel back to Nairobi, Sporting Director Lordvick Aduda who is with them confirms,” read a statement from the club.

The two key players had allegedly tested positive of COVID-19 and missed the first leg match against the Congolese side Otoho on Sunday 28th where the teal lost 1-0.
The two were expected to return with the team but were denied an exit pass with Congolese authorities stating they will be quarantined for the next 8 days and done another test before they leave if the result comes negative.
With a lean squad, K’Ogalo will be counting on the other two players who had injuries to recover to strengthen the squad for the return let. The two players are Philemon Otieno and Sydney Ochieng who traveled but were not able to play as they had picked injuries at home.
Gor Mahia is one game away to qualify for the prestigious African League Group Stage. The match will be played on Sunday 5th 2021 at Nyayo National Stadium.
