Nineteen times Kenya champions Gor Mahia will be in action today at Moi International Sports Center Kasarani when they face Kariobangi Sharks in what is termed as a mission to silence the stubborn opponent.

K’Ogalo is returning to the domestic league after a good continental mission, sailing through to the CAF Confederation Cup knock-out stage. God won 3-1 against Al-Ahly Merowe away in Egypt before the visitors failed to turn for the second leg that was scheduled to be played at Moi National Stadium – Nairobi.

“Mayienga”, vowing to instill discipline to the FKF favored team will recall the full battalion in today’s match that will be aired live on StarTimes sports channel.

K’Ogalo head coach Mark Harrison has stressed the importance of keeping their winning run going in the top-flight.

“We have started well in the league, two wins from two matches and it is something I have asked my boys to keep the momentum going, we want to keep the consistency and see where we will be by the end of the first round,” Harrison said during an interview with Goal.

It wasn’t a good outing against the Sharks last season as they collected maximum points from K’Ogalo winning 4-2 and 2-1 home and away respectively. These poor results were occasioned by whats was believed to be internal issues in the team.

Gor Mahia have played only two matches – a 2-1 season opener win against KCB before they floored their rivals AFC Leopards 1-0 in the derby.

While Sharks are fourth on the 18-team table with seven points from three matches, Gor Mahia are sitting seventh after accumulating six points from two matches.
