Football Kenya Federation has recovered Shs.. 10 million fine imposed on Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards head after forfeiting Mashemeji Derby that was to be held on 4th August 2021.

The was announced during the disbursement of Kenya Shillings 45 million monthly grant to the 17 KPL clubs on Friday 13th August 2021.

Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards will therefore receive less amount after the fine deductions.

It is not however clear how much has been deducted from the grants meant for Gor Mahia and AFC leopards.

“The Federation has, further, made a decision to deduct half of the grants owed to AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia, moving forward, to go towards the settlement of the KES 10 Million incurred by the two clubs for failing to honor FKF PL match no #260 pitting the two sides”, reads the statement.

“The federation had also announced a reduction of grant to all clubs participating in the top tier league after the withdrawal of the League sponsor BetKing.

“Moving forward, following the withdrawal of the top league’s title partner, FKF has agreed with the clubs to review downwards the monthly grants, up until when the Federation will secure partners other than its broadcast and radio partner.” read the statement from FKF statement.

Gor Mahia was fined Ksh. 4 million while their arch-rival AFC Leopards were fined 6 million Kenya shilling
