Azam bound Gor Mahia midfielder Kenneth Muguna has penned an emotional farewell note to the club following as he heads out of the club to join the Tanzania side.

Muguna whose contract expires in October has opted not to pen a new deal with the 19 time Kenya champions who had wanted him to stay.

In a letter on his social media platform, Muguna said he has achieved so much at the club and has decided to seek new challenge elsewhere.

“To Gor Mahia fans, when I arrived at this great club I was just a young man with dreams of representing the biggest club in the country, I didn’t expect things to go as well as they did but you made it a lot easier for me and not to forget the high level of players with so much quality who were always there to support and make me feel comfortable,” Muguna stated.

“Looking at what I have achieved at the club is so satisfying, I was lucky enough to play under great coaches and a great management as well. Thanks to the chairman and the whole management for their effort in renewing my contract though I felt like I needed a new challenge. Thanks for the years we spent together and I hope that we enjoy the remaining matches,” added the midfielder who captained the club early this season.

Muguna who has had two stints with Gor Mahia sandwiching a brief sting with Albania side FK Tirana has won three league titles with the club and more recently won the FKF Cup, a title he said was the only missing one from his accolades.

He joined Gor Mahia from Western Stima in 2017, a year after being voted the Kenya Premier League Most Valuable Player. He was to win the league with Gor on his first season with the club before moving to Albania the following year to join FK Tirana.

But his stay in the Eastern European country was shortlived and he returned to Gor Mahia six months later and won three more league titles with K’Ogalo.
