Gor Mahia head coach Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto has left the country for his homeland – Portugal. Pinto left last night (Friday 9th July 2021) giving his duties to his assistant Sammy “Pamzo” Omolo.
Pinto took over as Gor coach in January 2021, replacing the Brazilian Roberto Oliveira whose qualifications were not within the CAF requirement and was barred from taking charge of Gor Mahia CAF matches.
The Portuguese’s sailed K’ogalo through to Betway Cup games booking tickets to CAF Confederation Cup games. Pinto’s reign has been tough with the club facing financial problems, making it hard to manage the team as needed.
Sammy Omolo will be tasked with leading the team on an interim basis, his first assignment will be against Nairobi City Stars on 17th June.
