Gor Mahia’s zeal to go for the FKF Premier League title seems to have dwindled after another loss to Tusker FC in the midweek clash played at Ruaraka Grounds on Thursday 8th July 2021. K’Ogalo lost 2-1 to brewers, donating all points to the brewers.

K’Ogalo were the first to score in the 14th minute of the game courtesy of striker Tito Okello after midfielder Kenneth Muguna delivered a free-kick from the right side finding Tito in the area who taps home the opener, the only goal during the first half encounter.

Tusker came back from the break with more strategy piling pressure ad their effort yielded a result in the 56th minute after Boniface Muchiri curls the ball into the right corner of the goal from a freekick.

Tusker came into action in the game’s dying minutes, scoring the winner through Eugene Asike after a great conner by Sammy Meja.

Disappointed after the result, K’Ogalo head coach Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto, admitted it will not be easy to catch up with the league leaders with 9 matches remaining.

“I am not happy with how we have lost this game. We did not play well, but there are questions about how the match was also handled,” the Portuguese coach said at the post-match interview.

“We have lost and it is no longer in our hands. We will continue fighting, but Tusker have the advantage,” Pinto added.

K’Ogalo are placed in position four (4) it KFKPL table with 39 points, 11 points adrift of league leaders Tusker FC and with 9 matches to go.
