Gor Mahia were today frustrated by the relegation zone Western Stima after going down 2-1 in FKF Premier League match played at Thika Municipal Stadium in Thika.

Western Stima goal came from Rodgers Ouma in the 4th minute of the game making it the only goal in the half time.

The quick goal awoke Gor Mahia who began pushing for an equalizer and this could have been realized in the 14th minute when John Macharia with a great chance shot weak to Stima’s custodian Stephen Otieno.

In the 27th minute, Macharia once again came close to relieve K’Ogalo tension to level in the 27th minute but his combined effort with Nikihema but was well defended by Stima’s defender Kennedy Odhiambo who cleared it for a corner.

Western Stime side came on another attack in the 35th minute with Laban Otieno delivering a cross from the right which Oketch soared high despite the presence of God defenders, but his glancing header went inches wide.

Stima went into the half-time break with 1-0 lead and after the resumption, K’ogalo pile pressure to mainly aim at leveling and do more harm to relegation thretened side, but a well organized Stima could not give any chance.

Stima were reduced to 10 men in the 51t minute, but this did not hinder their determination to stay on put and 9 minutes later, the wonder boy Baron Oketch was fouled by captain Haron Shakava on the K’Ogalo box. Michael Karamor took the shot easily, beating Gad Mathews.

Gor Mahia goal came in the 82nd minute through substitute Clifton Miheso. As the league gets to premature end due to urgency of CAF preparation next season, Gor hope to clinch the title got a great setback and will only hope to get the continental chance when they meet arch-rivals AFC Leopard in the Betway Cup on 4th July 2021.
