Gor Mahia beats Vihiga United, bags three points

Gor Mahia picked three (3) points against Vihiga United in a midweek FKF Premier League match played at Mumias Complex in Western region this evening.

The lone goal came in the 40th minute of the play from Clifton Miheso with a long-range shot pat Vihiga goalkeeper Mustapha Oduor.

But pressures from K’Ogalo began in the fourth minute that saw custodian make a brilliant save from a classic strike by Clifton Miheso. This followed another attempt by Miheso in the 9th minute of the game In the eighth minute which was denied again by Vihiga resilient goalkeeper.

The host attempt came in the 10th minute after Patrick Okullo free-kick which found K’Ogalo custodian well alert diving wide the right to clear the dangerous ball.

A total of four yellow cards were issued with each team sharing the same number. On Gor Mahia’s side, Geoffrey Ochieng and goalkeeper Gad Mathews were booked in the 16th and 90th minutes respectively. (see also Vihiga United vs Gor mahia game statistics)

Winnig a game at hand will put defending champions just five (5) points to the summit, piling pressure to the current league leaders.
