Muguna, Boniface Oluoch fine by CAF over Lusaka chaos

Gor Mahia midfielder Kenneth Muguna and goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch been slapped with $15,000 each and a further four (4) matches ban from CAF inter-club competition after being found guilty of attacking match official in a CAF Confederation match against NAPSA Stars in Zambia on 21 Feb 2021 at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

CAF has also fined and ordered the club to pay the costs of damages caused by its players at the same Stadium.

“Gor Mahia are instructed to immediately check the cost of the damages incurred by NAPSA Stars and reimburse the cost of damages caused by the players,” the ruling by CAF’s disciplinary board members Raymond Hack, Issa Sama and Ali Dijae, reads part of CAF judgment sheet.

The ugly scene was witnessed after South African referee Lebalang Mokete awarded the Zambia side NAPSA Stars a last-minute penalty that was converted by legendary striker Emannuel Mayuka to knock out the Kenyan champions with away goal rule from the lucrative CAF Confederation Cup.

The agitated Gor Mahia players approached the referee after final whistle before he was seen running for his life towards the Zambian security officers.

Gor Mahia players also is claimed to have destroyed properties inside Hero Stadium dressing room according to match reports.
