Gor Mahia registered a great win against Sofapaka in a match played at Mwanyumba Stadium in Wundanyi – Taita Taveta County this afternoon.

Tito Okelo opened the score-line in the 27th after Kenneth Muguna’s cross found him in a great position to slot in the first goal with a lovely header.

Sofapaka equalizer came in the 53rd minute of the second half through Titus Achesa, but K’Igalo had to wait 27 minutes later to grab the lead through substitute Alpha Onyango.

K’Ogalo head coach Manuel Van Pinto praised his charges for not panicking after Sofapaka equalized but fought hard to get the winner.

ā€œI’m happy to have won against a tough team especially playing at their home ground. We are heading to Mombasa to play Congo Boys on Sunday in a Betway Cup match which we need to win to proceed to the next round,ā€

Defending champions remain in position 6 with 25 points. The team will be in Mombasa to face Congo Boys in a Betway Cup match scheduled for Sunday 23rd May 2021.
