Gor Mahia Secretary General Sam Ocholla and Team Manager Jolawi Obondo have responded to reports of players strike.

They have both denied reports of the players boycotting training due to payment issues.

They have been reports going round that the players have downed tools and that the team hasn’t trained since Friday 16th April.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport Secretary General Sam Ocholla denied the reports.
ā€œThe players have not downed their tools, there is no training. Players have been given their programs for individual training,ā€

ā€œThere is no football at the moment, when we got into office players had eight months arrears, now some players have one month or two months arrears,ā€ said Ocholla.

Team Manager Jolawi Obondo also denied these reports.

He is quoted by Mozzart Sport.

ā€œThose are just speculations, we stopped team training because of the pandemic, there are financial challenges which is expected because there are no sports in the country.
The players are however still training individually, the coach is sending the players the program but the challenge with the app is that you cannot know the fitness level of the players,ā€

It is still not clear when the Betking Premier League will resume but the teams have already been vaccinated.
