The much anticipated friendly match between Gor Mahia and Sudan National team Bright Stars has been canceled.

Instead, the Sudanese side will play against Wazito FC at the same venue and same tine (Moi International Sports Center – Kasarani.)

The players are demanding their salaries arrears and other allowances and have also threatened to boycott all remaining Premier League matches if their demands are not met.

Bright Stats are training in Kenya in preparation for the upcoming African Cup of Nation qualification matches. Their first friendly against Harambee Stars at Nyayo National Stadium ended in a 1-0 loss to the host.

K’Ogalo has lost six games so far and were recently knocked out of Caf competitions and the poor results have led to some questioning whether the matches are being manipulated.

The club’s Secretary-General had promised the team to have their dues paid soonest, but there are indications that are not forthcoming.

“I know players have not been paid but this is being looked into and should be sorted before the end of the month,” concluded Ochola. “There is no notable go-slow as is purported, but the salary issue is a matter of concern and some players are hurting due to this delay in payments,” Ochola said earlier.
