The defending champions Gor Mahia beat Mathare United 3-1 in a midweek fixture that was staged at the Kasarani Stadium, on Thursday afternoon.

The undisputed defending champions showed their might in the third minute of the game scoring the opener through defender Charles Momanyi.

It took another 15 minutes after the first goal for returning captain Kenneth Muguna slotted a second goal making it 2-0 for K’Ogalo before the break.

In the second half, Mathare United were awarded penalty which Dani Lual converted with ease making it 2-1.

But K’Ogalo vowed to push for more goals, a push that saw the third goal registered in the 89th minute of the game through Alphonse Onyango.

Drama was set for the dying minutes of added time when both sides lost a player to straight red cards due to unsporting behavior.

K’Ogalo are now 6 points after 4 games and will face Western Stime in the next FKFPL assignment.
