Gor Mahia is set to depart for Kigali on Friday 27th November 2020 for CAF Champions League preliminary clash against APR.
K’Ogalo Chairman said all is set and the tam is ready to go.
“The team is set to hit the run-way tomorrow to Kigali, Rwanda for the weekend’s CAF Champions League preliminary match against APR. We are just waiting for players’ Covid-19 results which we expect to get today.” – Chairman states on the official club’s online portal.
The defending champions faced logistic issues earlier, compelling them to request FKF to move the match to Saturday’s , a request that was rejected.
“Caf matches are not just moved like that. It is not an easy thing to do and so Gor Mahia were informed to be ready to play on Saturday,” a source in FKF told Goal on Wednesday during an interview with goal.com
The team did the COVID-19 test this morning and are waiting for the results to be out by Friday morning.
Their host coutry Rwandan government has however put strict measures to curb the spread of the deadly virus by putting foreign citizens under a mandatory 24 hour quarantine.
It remains to be seen if Gor Mahia will be allowed into the country past the 24 hour requirement if they fail to travel by Thursday evening.
