Former Gor Mahia FC right-back Wellington Ochieng” has thanked the K’Ogalo community for the great support they gave him during his four (4) years stay at the Green Army.

“Nothing but love and appreciation for the last four years, thanks to the amazing people who made this place feel like home”, Wellington posted on his Facebook page.

The skipper joined God Mahia in June 2016 and has been instrumental in the right back with some spectacular mover enabling to provide several assist and goals.

He came in when K’Ogalo got a new head coach Marcelo Ferreira – aka Ze Maria who according to his post was his mentor.

“To Marcelo Ferreira (ZE MARIA), I will forever be grateful that he gave me the privilege to represent this great club”, Ochieng’ appreciated..

But his career almost came to a halt after picking a serious ankle injury when Gor Mahia played against Bandari FC in May 2018 at Kenyatta Stadium – Machakos. He thanked the Green Army supporters for supporting him all through during his high and low moments.

“To the supporters of the Magnificent Green Army for accepting me and making me feel like one of their own”, the defender applauded.

Wellington has joined Tusker FC after being released by Gor Mahia alongside Edwin Lavatsa. He will be the face to watch when K’Ogalo begins the league campaigns against the brewers. He joins his former team-mate George Odhiambo “Blackberry”.

“To my teammates and former teammates, they are my brothers to share this journey with these boys has made me feel the luckiest fella in the game. To my former skippers, Jerry Onyango and Musa Mohammed”, Ochieng’ said.
