Reigning Champions Gor Mahia’s agreement with Kenya new KPL sponsor is through kitting firm Umbro. This was clarified by BetKing Kenya as rumors had it the betting firm was considering suing Gor for a bridge of contract.

Several sports media in Kenya reported that K’Ogalo signed a sponsorship deal with BetKing only for the club to seal another deal with BetSafe.

The firm regional spokesman Henry Okatch however clarifies that BetKing has an agreement Umbro, a kit manufacturer who in turn have an arrangement with Gor Mahia as their official kitting partner.

“We have not had any direct conversations with any Kenyan clubs or their owners. However, we do have an agreement with Umbro who would be better placed to comment on the issue,” Okatch said during an interview with Nation Media.

Gor Mahia signed signed a three-year long deal with global kit manufacturer Umbro on January 16th 2020.

The deal will see Umbro supply K’Ogalo’s squad with high-performance competition, training and off the field apparel. The technical and management staff will be supplied with branded apparel, equipment and luggage.

The products will also be available for fans to purchase. Umbro replaced Italian kit manufacturer Macron who have been supplying shirts to the club since August 2018. Macron contract terminated on mutual consent.
