Membership registration closed, election preparation begins.

Gor Mahia membership drive deadline has elapsed and closed as the club prepares for AGM slated for August 8th, 2020 where new office bearers will be elected..

The communication of the registration deadline was relayed to club members during electoral board’s first meeting that took place on 5th July 2020.

The club will be going for the polls under the new constitution with only four (4) slots to be contested. These include the post of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary-General and Honorary Treasurer.

The Club’s new constitution was adopted 12th June 2019 during SGM. The change has been necessitated by the need to comply with the Sports Act 2013 which directs that only three officials are mandated to run the affairs of the club.

Sam Ochola

More aspirants have shown interest to vie for various positions and one outstanding personality in the renowned businessman Sam Ochola who owns Lolwe TV and Dala FC. He holds Masters Degree in Business Management and Administration.

Running for the post of Secretary-General, Ochola has promised to rebuild the Club’s most valuable department and apply professionalism it deserves.

Ocholla have previously been supporting the youth team thru one of his companies Dala FM. He vied for the same position in the last election but lost marginally to Ben Omondi.

Among the promises Sam Ochola has made; establishing effective Club operations and management structures, Youth Team development, improving technical bench and playing unit welfare., strengthening Gor Mahia branches countywide, fundraising and resource mobilization through effective marketing, club revenue growth through sustainable commercial endeavors and establishing a strong club secretariat and merchandising center.

Other new faces on the race include Dolfina Onduto who is eyeing the post of Honorary Treasurer. She holds a Masters degree in Human Resource from Open University of Tanzania – Ruvuma Regional Center and Bachelor of Arts at Punjab University in India.

Dolfina has promised to hold the office with integrity it requires.

Chrispine Okoth

Chrispine Okoth has also joined the race at K’ogalo treasury making the position more interesting. A staunch member of the club for a long time and am a member of Gor Mahia Youth team Committee, Okoth holds Masters degree with Specialization in Finance, Strategic management and Entrepreneurship. He is also a Certified Public Accountant, Bachelor of Commerce holder and Diploma in Information Technology..

With his experience, Chrispine promises to put professionalism as a tool to bring back trust of K’Ogalo fans who have been reluctant to commit citing lack of transparency from the office. He promises to utilizes available resources for the betterment of the team.

The election to be held on 8th August 2020 will be done through electronic process. A total of 565 members have registered.
