The partnership deal with betting firm Betsafe has been welcomed and seen as a big boost because it arrived at a time the club was experiencing financial turmoil.
Speaking the official club’s website, Gor Mahia Deputy Secretary General (DSG) Ranald Ngala said the deal landed at a perfect time to cushion the club from the financial constraints faced.
“It came with a big relief that Betsafe signed a three-year sponsorship deal with us and most significantly, it came at a time when the club was facing one of the most difficult times financially. The sponsorship deal couldn’t have come at a better time than now.”
Ngala added that: “Gor Mahia FC being one of the most successful clubs in the country, is already paraded to represent the country in CAF Champions League tournament for 2020/21 season and the least we would expect is carrying some of the financial problems into this prestigious tournament thus coming on board of Betsafe through a sponsorship deal will definitely propel the club to make an impact.”
The DSG said that Betsafe will for sure gain from the deal as partners and on their part, the club now can now focus on training to better their results in coming assignments.
“Whereas our partners will be guaranteed improved visibility hence good returns, as a club we are also now bound to have a peace of mind with total focus at the training ground to get good results both off and on the pitch.”
