After a successful outing in Cameroon which saw Gor Mahia qualify to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, K’Ogalo resume to league action on Sunday(27th Jan 2019) against KCB in Machakos.

A win for Gor Mahia will see them continue their recovery towards defending the league title after losing two of their first three league games.

Gor Mahia first faced KCB in the league in 1999, winning 2-1 courtesy of goals from Hezron Omondi and Sunday Odhiambo. The two sides have since taken on each other 29 times in the league with Gor Mahia winning 11, drawing nine and losing nine of those fixtures.

The last meeting between the two sides was in August 2015 with Gor Mahia walloping the Bankers 6-1, Meddie Kagere scoring a brace to add to goals by Michael Olunga, Khalid Aucho, Enock Agwanda and an own goal – further pushing KCB towards the relegation they suffered that year.

Rama Salim remains the highest scorer in this fixture, netting seven times against the bankers, the most by any player for either side. He scored in all the appearances he made for Gor Mahia against KCB FC.

Gor Mahia goes into this match on the back of a four game unbeaten league streak, winning three of those and drawing one while scoring nine goals and conceding only once.

Dennis Oliech has scored on both his starts while Ugandan Erissa Ssekisambu leads the scoring chat for Gor Mahia with four goals having bagged a hat-trick in his last outing.

A win for Gor Mahia will take them to 16 points from eight games.
