Gor Mahia coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno is optimistic his team will get good results in CAF group stage qualifier match against Nyasa Big Bullets of Malawi tomorrow (Wednesday) at Kasarani stadium as from 7pm.

Zico was talking to the club’s official website today when the team had a mid-morning training session at Kasarani in preparation for tomorrow’s duel.

“We’ve had some great training sessions in readiness to this match and l know the team will deliver good results. We respect the Malawians but this is a match that we would love to get the best results because we are the home team and that means, we‘ll fire from all cylinders to achieve that. It’s a knock out match and a win is very important – that’s what we are going for,” noted the coach.

The coach said he has no worries in team selection as all his players are in good shape and are all ready to deliver when called upon. Worth noting, is how fast the new players have settled in as confirmed by the coach.

“We are in the right shape… all players are just yearning for play time and that makes my work easy in terms of team selection. No sort of injury to pin us down – we thank God for that. I am happy even all the new players have settled in well and we can work as a team not individuals – it’s all about team work,” added Zico in an animated mood.

The tactician who is also a great legend of Gor Mahia said he would have loved to play midfielder Francis Kahata who will be out as he is trying to work on a deal with US Algiers.

“Kahata is a great player who would have been a plus in this game but he won’t be available for selection. We have opted to give him time to work on the transfer deal he is trying to nail. But even so, we have equally great players who can deliver perfectly and so, we are good to go.”

Zico further called on fans to turn out in large numbers to support the team: “It’s a match that means a lot to Kenyan football and l am calling on football fans to make a date with us tomorrow because we need their support in our quest to achieve the best.”

The match tickets will go on sale on the match day around the stadium and at Safari Park – Thika Road. The VIP tickets will retail at Sh 500 while regular will go Sh 200.
