After the departure of coach Dylan Kerr, Gor Mahia Assistant coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno who is now in charge of the team as confirmed by the club’s chairman, says they have engaged top gear in their preparations for the upcoming CAF match against Nyasa Big Bullets.

Zico says the team’s training program has been running smoothly and their next plot is to train in high altitude area this week.

“We’ve had our training sessions as planned and so far so good. We have some players who are away with their national teams but they should be back by Tuesday when our next program will be starting and that will be in Nakuru County for about four days,” the coach told official Gor Mahia website.

There is a friendly match lined up against KCB as confirmed by the coach: ‘We will be training down there and play a friendly match against KCB in Nakuru on Wednesday then continue with our training through to Saturday and come back to Nairobi.”

The team will have a one day off before resuming training on Sunday and straight to the camp as preparation continue for Tuesday’s (November 27th) CAF qualifier match against the Malawians – Nyasa Big Bullets.

Zico confirms that all players are in good shape and there are no injury concern. “We had some training sessions and l am glad all players are in good shape and have shown desire to offer their best.”

The tactician confirmed that he watched the Malawians against Simba in a friendly match on Friday and took notes in terms of their strengths and weaknesses.

“I watched Nyasa Bullets against Simba in a friendly match and noted some elements which will we prepare for in order to get good results.”

Zico further wished coach Kerr all the best. “I wish coach Dylan all the best… it’s good he is going for greener pastures not that he was fired or anything and the best we can do is just to wish him all the best.”
