Former Gor Mahia goalkeeper Fredrick Onyango, who is currently the Team Manager of Gor Mahia Youth team, is happy with the progress the youth team have made so far.

The juniors who are sponsored by Dala FM managed a 3-2 win over Thunderbird in Laikipia yesterday to place them second on the log with 49 points, 4 points behind the leaders.

The win marked an impressive campaign for the lads and Team Manager Onyango says they are contented with the performance so far.

“So far, the team has performed beyond expectation and we are happy. The biggest motivation for the boys is the great performance by the senior team – Gor Mahia FC” Onyango told the official Gor Mahia website.

The legend says they are preparing the juniors for the future and they expect to see their best.

“It’s still a work in progress and we are expecting more from the juniors. I am happy because most of my players are under 19 years and that shows we have a future,” he added.

The youth team will be taking on Bomas on Saturday (11am) at Camp Toyoyo in their next assignment.
