Defender Wellingiton Ochieng’ has extended his stay at Gor Mahia by penning down a three year deal today.

The right-back player’s initial deal of two years expired this June and the new deal means the player will be at the club till July 2021.

Ochieng’, who has been out of active football since picking up an injury in March, was elated to be offered another chance at the club and said he is happy to get a new deal and will offer his best.

“I am excited to get a new deal at Gor Mahia. This is a great club and l will work together with the team and technical staffs to achieve the best,” Ochieng’ told the official Gor Mahia website during the contract signing in Nairobi.

Commenting on the new deal, club CEO Lordvick Aduda thanked Ochieng’ for extending his stay at Gor Mahia and added that despite the player being out of active football, they believe he will be back to his good form and help the club.

“We thank Wellington for extending his stay at Gor Mahia for another three years. He is a good player and we believe once he recover fully, he will regain his form and help the team. We couldn’t wait but to renew his contract because the transfer window is just about to be closed,” said Aduda.

The defender should be resuming full training session with the team after Cecafa tournament.
