Gor Mahia will be having two league matches before hitting the run-way to Tanzania for Cecafa tournament.

The league leaders will be hosting Posta Rangers tommorow (Tuesday) in Kisumu before hosting SoNy again on Friday in SportPesa Premier League fixtures at the same venue.

The developments were confirmed by Team Manager Jolawi Obondo who stated that their program has been set well before shifting gears to Cecafa tournament.

“We will have two matches in Kisumu – that’s against Posta Rangers on Tuesday and then play SoNy on Friday before jetting out to Tanzania for Cecafa competition the following day,” Obondo told Gor Mahia website.

Gor Mahia will be playing their first Cecafa group stage match on Sunday and the club CEO Lordvick Aduda says they expect their program to run smoothly and hope the team will be ready for the task ahead despite the tight schedule.

“The program is a bit tight but we have our plans down and we expect everything to move as per the script. We will be in Tanzania a day before our first Cecafa match and we hope the team will be in good shape to deliver,” said Aduda.

Despite leading the league table with a gap of nine points, Gor Mahia have played less matches and the two fixtures are catch up matches to reduce the pile up since the team will be away for some time.

The last time Gor Mahia played two matches in a space of just four days in Kisumu was about two weeks ago where the team collected maximum points and scored a massive seven goals in the two matches.
