[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he league organizers, Kenyan Premier League Limited, have postponed the weekend’s league fixture pitting AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia.
This comes after so much confusion which ended up being settled at the Sports Disputes Tribunal this evening – where clubs were given room to make a decision.
ln a letter circulated to media houses, KPL CEO Jack Oguda, explained why they postponed the match that was scheduled for Saturday at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
“After consultations with the KPL Executive Committee, this is to confirm that the AFC
Leopards SC vs Gor Mahia FC match that was scheduled to be played at the Bukhungu Stadium on Saturday, 26 May 2018 has been postponed. A new date and venue for the match will be communicated next week after consultation with the home team, AFC Leopards,” read part of the letter.
It was going to be the first time a derby match between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards was going to be played in Bukhungu.
Focus will now be on Harambee Stars this coming weekend as most of the senior players of Gor Mahia are with the national team where two friendly matches against Swaziland and Equitorial Guinea are lined up.
