Gor Mahia have been paired with SS Assad of Mombasa in SportPesa Shield tournament in a draw that was done on Monday 22nd May 2018 in Nairobi.
The new 2018 SportPesa Shield tournament which was launched on the same day, will have 64 teams from all the five tiers of Kenyan football.
The winner of the tournament, which is scheduled to kick off on June 1st is set to pocket Sh2 million prize money and will also represent the country in next season’s CAF Confederations Cup.
The runners-up are set to pocket Sh1 million with the third-placed and fourth-placed teams taking home Sh750,000 and Sh500,000 respectively.
Gor Mahia will be starting in an away fixture in Mombasa on 2nd June.
