[dropcap]M[/dropcap]Machakos County governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has fulfilled his promise of donating money to Gor Mahia.
The govern had previously promised to offer a helping hand to the club as they participate in Caf Confederation Cup competition.
On his Twitter handle, governor Mutua confirmed his donation to the club in the presence of club CEO Ludovick Aduda and First Vice Chairman Hon John Pesa.
“I have today kept my promise to Gor Mahia and handed 300k shillings to the team’s First Vice Chairman Hon. John Pesa for the team’s amazing performance against Hull City. Gor’s CEO Lordvick Aduda and my Minister for Sports Faith Wathome witnessed the event…” read the tweet.
The club chairman Ambrose Rachier appreciated the support and called on other governors to help the club as continental football comes with a huge financial burden.
“We sincerely appreciate the support that we’ve always received from governor Mutua… and this is part of the support he promised he will offer to the club as we participate in Caf matches,” the chairman told the official club’s website.
“The governor has promised to spearhead fundraising to help the club get more funds to take care of Caf matches budget. I am calling on other governors and friends to stand with Gor Mahia in this very important year…” he added.
Governor Mutua sent his Minister for Sports Faith Wahome to go watch and offer supporting Gor Mahia in Rwanda when the team played Rayon Sports in Caf Confederation Cup fixture.
