[dropcap]G[/dropcap]or Mahia captain Haron is oozing confidence ahead of Caf Confederation Cup match against USM Alger of Algeria on Wednesday at Kasarani.

Shakava, who led his troops in a good performance against Hull City in a freindly match on Sunday, says their experience in many matches played so far, is a great element to bank on as they face their opponents from North Africa in a Group D.

“We have been playing many matches which have made it easy to approach big games… we are at home and as a team, we need to play as a unit because they are a good team and to achieve the best, we must be solid,” the captain told the official Gor Mahia website.

The towering centre-back player appreciates the magnitude of the match and says that as a team, they know how and when to engage the gears for good results.

“It will be a tough match but as a team, we will set the mood and push ourselves to at least get good results to keep us going in the group.” Haron Shakava

Commenting about the Wedneday’s opponents, the captain appreciates the might of the Algerian side but says their aim is to fight to the final whistle with good results in mind.

“It will not be an easy encounter because they are a good side but we believe in ourselves and we will stage a good show as a team to get good result,” he added.

USM Alger are topping the group with three points followed by Gor Mahia and Rayon Sports with one point apiece.
